Fostering a virtual, thriving community
The preceding Laserfiche Empower conference was in-person and narrowly evaded the increased emergence of COVID-19 in the United States and the various statewide lockdowns that followed it.
With the pandemic still in full force, the next Laserfiche Empower, held in February 2021, went fully virtual.

However, the real challenge was finding a relevant and cohesive theme. At this point in the crisis, individuals and businesses were tired. The transition had already happened. Most if not all people that needed to use Zoom for remote work, had started using it. News of effective vaccines, and a glimmer of hope was in the air. Still, people were still in the trenches of the pandemic and navigating the complexities of an isolated but connected world.
So leadership greenlit the word "thrive" and I ran with it. Empower 2021 wasn't necessarily about transitioning to a "new normal". It had already arrived. Business leaders needed to exist in the present and thrive. Hope was on its way, but there was a long road ahead.
Empower 2021's stable of inspiring speakers, including Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph and Zoom CIO Harry D. Moseley offered attendees exactly what they needed: strategies to find success, no matter what came their way.
